Thank you!!!

I just want to thank all of you for being so freaking awesome. Because of your donations Kadiaradougou installed the pump almost immediately! It is thanks to you we now have clean water. Hadi Berthe, Wasa Jabate, Sidiki Berete, Fatoumata Jabate, Bakary Watara, and all the other members of Kadiaradougou thank you!

A water sample was sent to a lab in Bamako for physical-chemical analysis and the results were excellent. The water is clean and clear, and it tastes better than the well water. Almost all of the community members now fetch their water from the pump, and many fill up large jugs to take out and drink while they work in the fields.

There's an added (and unexpected) benefit as well: since the pump is mechanical, it's not seen exclusively as women's work to fetch water from it (unlike pulling water from the wells). Now the women can send their children and husbands to fetch water, reducing the women's workload tremendously.
